Writing starts with listening, discovering the story in what moves people every day. And then develop your own vision in ever-changing keys, with letters and words, with sentences that represent what you hear. It only becomes really fascinating when you can involve the world as I did, from Ivory Coast to the Balkans, from Ukraine to Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Russia, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Suriname. A fascinating journey of discovery through impressive cultures and a rich history. Back home, I use some of my free time to look for that rich past that is still present in the soil here and there – from the fascinating, underestimated early Paleolithic times to the Celtic fields at the end of prehistory. I travel with the Romans from Rome to Xanten and Vindolanda, past medieval battlefields and an impressive industrial heritage and ultimately end up in current events where problems seem to take over common sense. With a pen I draw the outlines of the future in the clouds, so that they can be observed from afar. Some of the results of it, you can find on this website.
